Font Format: Item dialog: Display Options tab

Use this tab of the "Font Format: Item dialog" to set properties for the display of titles, axis labels, and data labels in a graph, gauge, or trellis.

Components

Truncate

This box is available only for titles.

Use this box to specify whether items are to be automatically truncated or truncated by a specified number of characters. If you select Specify, then enter the number of characters in the characters field.

Axis Labels

This box is not available for data labels.

Use this box to specify whether to show or hide axis labels.

Label Orientation

This box is not available for data labels.

Use this box to select the number of degrees axis labels are to be rotated.

Skip Labels

This box is not available for all graph types.

Use this box to display an alternate set of axis labels.

Abbreviate

This box is available only for axis and data labels. It is not available for all graph types.

Use this box to select the abbreviation to use for scale and data labels. For example, if you select Million (m) for a axis label of 120,000,000, then the label is abbreviated to 120M.

Show Data Labels

This box is available only for data labels.

Use this box to specify whether to hide or show data labels. The labels are rendered in the graph plot area, adjacent to the data element.

If the Show Data Labels box is set to Always and the graph type is either a Stacked Vertical Bar or Stacked Horizontal Bar, then the data marker label displays as center aligned.

If the Show Data Labels box is set to On rollover, the data marker label displays when you hover the mouse over the data element in the graph plot area.

Value

This list is only available for waterfall graphs.

Use this list to display the actual or cumulative value of the measure. The options are:


Note:

If the Show Data Labels box is set to Always, the data marker label displays above a positive bar and below a negative bar when you hover the mouse. The Show Data Labels box controls which values (Actual versus Subtotal) are displayed. Note that both values are displayed for the tooltip when hovering the mouse.
